The objective of the assignment is two-fold:

• Mapping of the supply chain for paddy to identify the E&S risks and the gaps between practices and guidelines such as the ILO, UNDP, PROPARCO exclusions and SA 8000 requirements, with focus on the environment and social aspects of deforestation and child labor;
• Development of 2-3 sourcing opportunities to improve, secure and sustain GRC agricultural product procurement.

Refine the project concept for the modernization of an agriculture wholesale market in Almaty, Astana, and Chui Oblast including financial flows, ownership structure, benefits for involved stakeholders, and possible tenant agreement structure. Prepare at least 2 options, discuss them with the involved stakeholders and conduct a SWOT-analysis for the agreeable options.

A detailed feasibility study and engineering design aimed at achieving our key outputs: (1) Value Chain Analyses for Selected Agricultural Products; (2) Investment Feasibility Studies and Due Diligence; (3) Design of agricultural value chain Financing Mechanism(s); and (4) Project Readiness Activities Completed Including Preparing Detailed Engineering Designs and Bidding Documents.
